The Petersburg Bureau of Police is investigating a deadly shooting that occurred Monday evening, September 29, 2025.
At approximately 5:19 p.m., officers were dispatched to the 1900 block of East Washington Street following reports of gunfire. When police arrived on scene, they located a male victim suffering from gunshot wounds. The victim has since been identified as Tyron R. Clanton. He was transported to a nearby hospital, where he later succumbed to his injuries.
Detectives are actively working to determine the circumstances that led to the shooting. Authorities are urging community members to come forward with any information that may assist in solving this case.
“If you were in the area at the time of the incident and witnessed anything suspicious, or if you have surveillance video that may be helpful, please contact us immediately,” officials said in a statement.
