Authorities in Pageland, South Carolina, say several arrests have been made following the tragic shooting death of a 9-year-old child, bringing some relief to a community left shaken by the senseless violence.
The incident occurred late Sunday evening in a residential neighborhood, where the child was struck by gunfire while inside the family home. Investigators believe the shooting was not a random act but stemmed from an ongoing dispute, with the young victim caught in the crossfire.
According to the Chesterfield County Sheriff’s Office, suspects were taken into custody during coordinated raids earlier this week. Officials have not yet released the names of all individuals arrested, but charges are expected to include murder, attempted murder, and weapons violations.
