It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of Deon Lilly, 20, of Lubbock, Texas, whose life was tragically cut short in a shooting on September 28, 2025.
Deon was attending a gathering in Southwest Lubbock when gunfire erupted shortly after midnight in the 5500 block of 76th Street. He was rushed to University Medical Center with a gunshot wound but, despite efforts to save him, he passed away a short time later. His loss has left family, friends, and the community heartbroken.
Deon was a vibrant young man known for his kindness, laughter, and the joy he brought to everyone around him. His ability to lift spirits, make others smile, and show compassion will forever be remembered. To those who knew him best, Deon was more than a friend — he was family, a light in dark times, and a source of strength.
Though his journey on earth ended far too soon, Deon’s memory will continue to live on in the hearts of all who loved him. His spirit, love, and laughter will never fade.
Rest in peace, Deon Lilly. You will never be forgotten.
