Grimsby Fatal Shooting: Active Shooter, Undisclosed Man Injured, Suspect at Large on Friday evening

The Niagara Regional Police Service (NRPS) is investigating a shooting that occurred Friday evening on South Service Road near Kelson Road North, prompting a heavy police presence in the area. Authorities are asking the public to avoid the scene.

At approximately 7:45 p.m., NRPS, Hamilton Police Service, Niagara EMS, and Hamilton EMS responded to reports of gunfire near the Grimsby/Stoney Creek border. Police confirmed that one man was shot and transported to a nearby trauma centre with serious but non-life-threatening injuries.

The suspect remains at large. He was last seen on foot, heading westbound along South Service Road toward Hamilton, dressed in dark clothing. No further description has been released at this time.

The investigation is being led by NRPS 8 District (Grimsby-Lincoln-West Lincoln). Detectives are appealing to anyone who may have been in the area, or who has dashcam or surveillance footage, to come forward.
