Law enforcement officers responded to Land O’ Lakes High School on Wednesday after receiving a report of a suspicious person on campus, prompting a brief lockdown.
The school was quickly secured as deputies conducted a sweep of the campus to ensure the safety of students and staff. After a thorough search, officials confirmed there was no credible threat to the school community.
Investigators later identified the suspected intruder as a school employee, and the lockdown was lifted shortly thereafter.
The Pasco County School District said classes resumed as normal once the situation was resolved and assured families that safety protocols were followed out of an abundance of caution.
Authorities emphasized that there is no ongoing danger, and the incident remains under review.
