Toronto police say two city high schools were placed under lockdown on Wednesday afternoon after an incident involving a knife.
According to police, the initial incident occurred at Lawrence Park Collegiate Institute on Sept. 17, prompting the lockdown. In response, Danforth Collegiate and Technical Institute was also placed under lockdown as a precaution.
Students at Danforth Collegiate were later dismissed safely, while Lawrence Park remained under a heightened police presence into the afternoon.
Authorities have not released details on any injuries, suspects, or arrests connected to the incident.
Police are urging the public to avoid the area as officers continue to investigate.
Further updates are expected as more information becomes available.
