A Ballinger man was tragically killed in a one-vehicle crash on Saturday evening, according to the Texas Department of Public Safety.

Authorities say Anthony Miguel Leija, 33, was driving a Chevy Silverado on County Road 287, about six miles west of Ballinger, when he lost control of the vehicle at around 8:35 p.m.
The truck veered off the roadway for reasons still under investigation. Leija reportedly overcorrected, causing the vehicle to overturn and land in a nearby field. He was ejected from the vehicle and was not wearing a seatbelt at the time of the crash.

Leija was pronounced dead at the scene by Justice of the Peace Lane Pinckney.
