HARRIS COUNTY, TX – On Wednesday, August 27th, a 17-year-old was arrested for her alleged involvement in the abuse that led to the death of her eight-year-old brother back in February.
The teen’s boyfriend was also arrested in connection to the young child’s death, according to FOX26. He was arrested back in March. The sister, Kara Walker, has been charged with injury to a child with serious bodily injury and has been booked in the Harris County Jail. Her boyfriend, 18-year-old Nolan Stallings, is facing the same charges after authorities found the eight-year-old with serious injuries.
The couple accused of torturing the girlfriend’s little brother to death told police the child ‘just fell a lot,’ according to officials.
Walker’s bond has been set at $100,000 while Stallings’ bond is at $1,00,000. Back on February 10th, Harris County deputies were called to a hospital in Baytown. Upon arriving, officials learned that an eight-year-old boy had been brought to the hospital with various bodily injuries.
His injuries were consistent with abuse believed to have happened at a home nearby. Court documents revealed that the young child was abused and tortured over several days. He was in critical conditions before being pronounced dead days later. Sheriff Ed Gonzalez said that Walker’s boyfriend claimed the boy was injured in a fall. However, investigators said that hospital staff told them the story didn’t add up.
Court records state that the child’s abuse caused his death and that he died from blunt force trauma. Prosecutors said that they are not ready to release the reasons why the most serious charges against the duo haven’t been filed, ABC13 reported.
Stallings was accused of beating the boy with his hands as well as with blunt objects before his death, the DailyMail reported.
It is unclear where Walker and the boy’s parents were when he was allegedly tortured to death. Stallings was released on his $1,000,000 bond and is due back in court on September 18th.
Walker is still being held in jail on her bond and is scheduled back in court this week. The investigation remains ongoing and prosecutors stated that Walker and Stallings were arrested at different times due to the evidence.
