Authorities have identified the victims in a double homicide that has shaken the Hazel Park community as 41-year-old Linda Hill and her 12-year-old son, Kardi.
Police were called to a home on Berdeno Avenue near I-75 and 9 Mile Road on Monday night, where the bodies of the mother and child were discovered. Family members at the scene told investigators that both victims had been fatally stabbed inside the residence.
Hazel Park Schools later confirmed that Kardi was a student in the district, prompting grief counseling and support services to be made available for classmates and staff.
On Tuesday evening, the Oakland County Sheriff’s Office executed a search and arrest warrant in Pontiac, taking a male suspect into custody. Authorities confirmed that the suspect was known to Linda Hill and has been identified as her ex-boyfriend.
