It is with broken hearts that we share the sudden and unexpected passing of our beloved Lorraine Ford DeMan this past weekend.
To us, she was simply “Lulu” — a sister, a daughter, a friend — but to so many others, she was a light, a teacher, a performer, and an inspiration. Lorraine’s life was a beautiful blend of generosity, passion, humor, and talent. She poured her heart into everything she did, from guiding her students with wisdom and patience, to captivating audiences on stage with her energy, wit, and unforgettable storytelling.
Lorraine touched hundreds of lives in countless ways — as a loving family member, a dedicated educator, and a gifted performer. She had a gift for making others laugh, for listening deeply, and for sharing stories that left lasting impressions. Her presence filled every room, and her absence leaves an immeasurable void.
The photo we share today is of me and Lulu outside our childhood home on Wyman Street in Arlington, Massachusetts — a reminder of the roots we shared and the memories that will carry us forward.
Though she was taken from us far too soon, Lorraine’s legacy of love, laughter, and creativity will live on in the hearts of all who knew her.
