Her education fostered a lifelong passion for civic engagement and advocacy. Eventually, she made Colts Neck her permanent home, where she would spend more than half a century shaping the lives of Monmouth County residents through her leadership, wisdom, and generosity.
Professionally, Lillian excelled as the Broker/Owner of Colts Neck Realty, where she earned widespread respect for her keen insight and dedication to clients. Yet her influence extended far beyond the world of real estate. As a longtime Monmouth County Commissioner, Lillian became a trusted voice for her community. She approached every role not merely as a position, but as an opportunity to create meaningful change. Her reputation for intelligence, determination, and principle distinguished her as one of Monmouth County’s most respected leaders.
But perhaps what set Lillian apart most was her kindness and compassion. She consistently put people first, and her care for others was genuine and heartfelt. One poignant example was her support for a young community member who lost his father on 9/11. Lillian took it upon herself to step into his life—writing letters, visiting his family, and becoming a steady, guiding presence. She fondly referred to him as her grandson, often joking in later years that she had “birthed him.” This mix of heart and humor became a hallmark of her character.
Lillian also served as a mentor and source of inspiration for those entering politics and public service. During her 2017 campaign for Freeholder, she welcomed newcomers with open arms, offering guidance and encouragement. Her belief in civic duty was unwavering, and she inspired others to pursue leadership with integrity and courage.
