PHOENIX, Ariz; A tense standoff unfolded Friday afternoon in a north Phoenix neighborhood after a shooting inside a home left one man seriously injured.
Phoenix police said officers were called to the area of 31st Avenue and Aster Drive, just north of Cactus Road, where they discovered a man suffering from gunshot wounds inside the residence. The victim was transported to a nearby hospital with serious but unspecified injuries.
Authorities confirmed the suspect remains barricaded inside the home. Crisis negotiators are on scene attempting to persuade the individual to surrender peacefully. In the meantime, law enforcement has blocked off surrounding roads and urged residents to avoid the area.
