Loretta Dobos Edinboro Pa Accident; Fatal Crash Shuts Down Portion of Route 99, Victim Identified

The accident happened just before 6:30 p.m. near Harrison Drive. Emergency responders from several local departments rushed to the scene, where they found the victim unresponsive. She was transported to UPMC Hamot, but despite lifesaving efforts, she was later pronounced deceased.

Erie County Coroner Lyell Cook identified the victim as 79-year-old Loretta Dobos of Meadville. She was officially pronounced dead at the hospital shortly before 7:15 p.m.

Following the incident, state police closed Route 99 for several hours, stretching from Crane Road to just before the Edinboro Cemetery, to allow investigators to examine the crash site.

At this time, authorities have not released further details about the circumstances surrounding the crash. The investigation remains ongoing.
