Houston police responded to a tense situation in Downtown Houston on Monday after receiving reports of a possible suicidal individual on a building.
Authorities said officers were called to the scene on Fannin Street regarding a person reportedly threatening to jump. Emergency responders, including police negotiators and medical crews, quickly arrived to secure the area and ensure public safety.
Traffic and pedestrian movement around the scene were temporarily disrupted as officers worked to make contact with the individual. Witnesses reported seeing police attempting to communicate with the person, urging them to come down safely.
As of Monday evening, officials had not released additional details about the individual’s identity or the outcome of the incident. Houston police said the situation remains under investigation.
