SUPPORT THE FAMILY, GOD BLESS YOU

His life was woven deeply into the fabric of Lincoln, from the football field to local fundraisers, from the hallways of the high school to the everyday moments when his smile and kind words lifted someone’s spirits.

Jason was the heartbeat of Lincoln. He poured his time, energy, and love into his hometown, showing up for school events, community gatherings, and charitable causes—not for recognition, but for connection.

He had a rare gift for making people feel seen and valued, and his absence leaves an immeasurable void, not just on the sidelines, but in the hearts of everyone who knew him.

To the Lincoln football program, Coach Wilkerson was more than a coach—he was a builder. He didn’t just manage special teams; he redefined what special teams meant for Lincoln football.

With passion, persistence, and a sharp eye for untapped potential, he turned a once-overlooked unit into a source of pride for the entire program. He recruited athletes from every corner of Lincoln—soccer players, track stars, and basketball standouts—urging them to “just come give kicking a try.”

More often than not, they stayed. They stayed because Coach Wilkerson made it about more than the game. He made it about growth, grit, teamwork, and becoming part of something bigger than yourself.

His players knew they could count on him to arrive early, stay late, and never stop believing in their potential—even when they didn’t yet believe in themselves.

Through field goals and fair catches, he taught life lessons about perseverance, responsibility, and self-confidence. The young men he coached carry his influence with them today, not only in sports but in every challenge they face.

Outside of football, Jason’s dedication extended to his work and family. He was the proud owner of TCJW Holdings and Royal West Roofing, where he brought the same integrity, leadership, and care that defined his coaching. His strong work ethic and commitment to excellence were an inspiration to colleagues and employees alike.

A graduate of Lincoln High School in Ypsilanti, Michigan, Jason never lost his connection to the places and people who shaped him. He lived in Willis, Michigan, and hailed from Belleville, Michigan—communities that, much like Lincoln, benefited from his generosity and steadfast spirit.

Above all, Jason was a family man. He was a devoted husband to his wife Tammy, a loving father to his children, and a proud grandfather who cherished time spent with his grandchildren. His family was his foundation, and he celebrated their accomplishments with the same enthusiasm he brought to every football game.

As Lincoln mourns this sudden and unimaginable loss, we ask that you keep Jason’s family—his wife Tammy, his children, and his grandchildren—in your thoughts and prayers. Their grief is profound, but so too is the love and support of the community he served so faithfully.

We love you, Coach Wilkerson. Thank you for your mentorship, your laughter, your belief in others, and your unwavering dedication to making Lincoln a better place.
