A beloved mother and wife has been identified as the victim killed in the RT 26 car crash on Saturday.
Darcy Brunner Car Accident
62-year-old Darcy Brunner died after the car crash that happened Saturday evening on IL Rt 26. Law enforcement was called to the scene between Oneco Rd and Winslow Rd, according to the Stephenson County Sheriff’s Office. Brunner sustained fatal injuries and was pronounced dead on the scene.
The Freeport Coroner’s office was called in. Stephenson County Sheriff’s Office advised drivers to seek an alternative route as Oneco Rd remained closed due to the incident. The road has since reopened.
Darcy Brunner was a loving mother and a caring wife to her husband of many years. Thomas Brunner. The couple was well-known in the area. She was a master’s degree holder from the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign and originally from Delhi, Iowa.
Brunner was a proud alumnus of Maquoketa Valley Senior High School and a lover of music. Hours before her tragic demise, Brunner was at the Jonas Brothers listening party.
