SUPPORT THE FAMILY, GOD BLESS YOU

Trey was the beloved son of Tiffany and Jared Rawlinson, a cherished younger brother to Jax and Jett, and older brother to Ava. He was a bright and active 5th grader, remembered by those who knew him for his joyful spirit, adventurous heart, and kind nature.

According to the Millard County Sheriff’s Office, the accident occurred around 8:30 p.m. while Trey was attending a church youth event at the reservoir, located near Delta, Utah. During a recreational water activity, a rope attached to a watercraft became entangled in the boat’s motor, tragically pulling Trey beneath the water’s surface.

Bystanders and emergency responders immediately began lifesaving efforts at the scene. Trey was later airlifted to a nearby hospital for advanced medical care, but sadly, he succumbed to his injuries.

Though the sheriff’s office has not officially released the victim’s name, family members and friends have confirmed Trey’s identity and are remembering the boy who brought light and laughter wherever he went.

“Our hearts are shattered,” said a close family friend. “Trey was full of life—curious, playful, always ready with a smile. This is an unimaginable loss for everyone who knew and loved him.”

The Millard County Sheriff’s Office is continuing to investigate the circumstances of the accident. In a public statement, they extended their deepest condolences to the family and the entire community affected by this tragedy.

Grief counselors and church leaders have been made available to help comfort those impacted, particularly the youth who witnessed or were present during the incident.

As Oak City and surrounding communities come together to mourn, support, and remember Trey, friends are encouraged to keep the Rawlinson family in their thoughts and prayers in the difficult days ahead.

This is a developing story. The Millard County Sheriff’s Office is expected to release further details in the coming days.
