Wiley, known for his track “I Came a Long Way,” was found dead by law enforcement shortly after posting a series of distressing messages on social media. The posts detailed his struggles with homelessness, emotional abuse, and feelings of public humiliation. He accused the mother of his children of disparaging him during a live video stream, knowing the fragile state he was in.

Lamont was a father to two young children, Makaila and Karson, to whom he left a final heartbreaking note:

“Sorry Makaila & Karson 💔 Daddy Love Y’all.”

Prior to his death, Wiley made several social media posts expressing deep emotional pain and frustration. He alleged that he had been publicly shamed and ridiculed while carrying the burden of financial responsibility for his children, despite his unstable living conditions. In his words, he felt vilified while trying to do the best he could as a father.

In one of his final posts, Wiley wrote:

“Mee Mee Living Off EBT CASH, Section 8, Food Stamps (dat she sale for money)…

Friends and fans of the Texarkana, Texas native—who had been living in Missouri in recent years—have expressed their shock and sorrow on social media. Many noted that Wiley was a talented lyricist who was open about his struggles and used his music to inspire others who felt unseen or unheard.

An autopsy is pending. Wiley was found hanging on a rope. He was pronounced dead on the scene.
