The Moreton Tactical Crime Squad (TCS) have allegedly located two loaded semi-automatic firearms at a property in Kallangur during the arrest of a 21-year-old man yesterday, 6 August.
Moreton TCS, with the assistance of the Moreton Dog Squad, attended a Kallangur property to arrest a 21-year-old Kallangur man in relation to outstanding warrants and criminal offences.
Upon arrival, the man allegedly refused to exit the property, however police forced entry and arrested the man without any further incident.
Police allegedly initially located a loaded firearm and bags of discarded crystal, suspected to be methylamphetamine, in and around a toilet.
A further search by police allegedly located and seized a second semi-automatic firearm, ammunition, more than $15,000 cash, three knuckledusters, a small quantity of methylamphetamine, various steroids, and a large quantity of prescription medications.
A 21-year-old Kallangur man has been charged with four counts of unlawful possession of weapons, four counts of possessing dangerous drugs, and one count each of authority required to possess explosives, obstruct police officer and possession of property suspected of being the proceeds of an offence under Drugs Misuse Act.
He has been refused police bail and is due to appear in Pine Rivers Magistrates Court today, 7 August.
Investigations are ongoing and further charges are expected.
