A 49-year-old man who was found dead at his home in Carrick-on-Suir, County Tipperary, in the early hours of Monday has been locally identified as bus driver Ian Walsh.

Mr. Walsh, a former Irish Rail employee, was discovered unresponsive at his residence on Cregg Road around 3:30am. His family alerted emergency services, and gardaí responded to the scene along with paramedics. He was pronounced dead by a local doctor.
A postmortem will be conducted at University Hospital Waterford to help determine the direction of the Garda investigation. The scene has been sealed off for a technical examination, and the Office of the State Pathologist has been notified. It is believed Mr. Walsh had sustained several injuries.
Gardaí are now working to piece together his final movements. House-to-house inquiries will be carried out in the neighborhood, and officers will review security camera footage from nearby homes to track any activity around the property.
Authorities are appealing to the public for information, particularly from anyone who was in the Cregg Road area between 8pm on Friday and 3:30amon Monday. Road users who may have dashcam or other relevant footage are also urged to come forward.
