Family and friends are mourning the heartbreaking loss of 15-year-old Naya Dorothy Aprile, who tragically died in a fatal car accident in St. Clair County near Port Huron, Michigan. Her untimely passing has left the community in deep sorrow as they remember her bright spirit and young life cut short.
Funeral Services for Naya will take place on Monday, August 4, 2025, at 11 a.m., with Benjamin Evers officiating. A luncheon will immediately follow in the Reflections Reception Center. The family will greet friends on Sunday, August 3, from 1 p.m. until 5 p.m. and on Monday beginning at 10 a.m. until the time of the service. Memorial contributions may be made to the family. Envelopes will be available at the funeral chapel. The family is requesting guests to wear Naya’s favorite color, purple, in her honor.
Naya Dorothy Aprile
Naya was born October 29, 2009, in Lubbock, Texas. She was a student at Alma Middle School until recently moving to Port Huron, where she was ready to begin her freshman year of high school. Naya had a passion for singing, dancing, and spending time with her family and friends. Spending time at the family cabin in Lake City, where she enjoyed fishing, swimming, kayaking, and riding quads, was her favorite thing to do. She was truly fearless and always up for a challenge. Naya had many hobbies, but spending time on her phone was at the top of the list. She had a love for animals of all kinds. In the past, Naya was part of Honors Camp, Horse Camp, and Mystic Camp. In school, Naya participated in P.A.L. Soccer, Alma Cheer, and jazz and ballet at the Academy of Performing Arts.
Naya is survived by her parents, Kashmir (Doug) Warren of Alma, Frank Aprile of Port Huron, and Ashley Garza of Lubbock, Texas; siblings Maria Aprile (Nathan Fink) of Ann Arbor, Kimberly Aprile (Lane O’Boyle) of Edmore, Kevin Warren of Alma, Justin Aprile of Alma, Samantha Warren of Alma, A’Brehn Aprile of Alma, and Tyler Warren of Alma; niece Charlotte Fink; grandparents Jeff and Betsy Stonerock of Beal City, Marisa Jalomo of Lubbock, Texas, and Dave and Angie Hayhoe of Grand Ledge; great-grandmother Bernadette Sunderman of Mt. Pleasant; boyfriend Brayden Daniels of Port Huron; friend Jayleen Stark of Port Huron; and many other extended family and friends.
Naya was preceded in death by her great-grandparents Ingeborg Hinderschiedt and Massimo Aprile, Bert Sunderman, and Manuel and Yolanda Jalomo.
