Maya Nayar Solon OH: Heartbroken mom, Archana Nayar mourns Loss of daughter
“Maya loved life and everyone in it,” her mother, Archana Nayar, shared in a heartfelt tribute. “While nothing can fill the void she left in our hearts, she left me with truths that now light my path.”
A proud Solon native, Maya attended Solon High School, where her love for language, history, and the social sciences set her apart as a thoughtful and inquisitive student. Her academic brilliance and deep empathy led her to The Ohio State University, where she was a Morrill Scholar and Honors Student, expected to graduate in 2029.
But Maya’s ambitions were never just about accolades. She sought to serve. Her desire to help others began early—she raised a guide dog for Guiding Eyes for the Blind, blending her love for animals with a genuine drive to improve the lives of others.
Outside the classroom, Maya was a third-degree black belt in Taekwondo. She found joy in teaching children martial arts, using patience and discipline to inspire confidence in her young students. Her leadership extended into her school community, where she played an active role on the Solon Speech & Debate team and served on the executive board of the Key Club, channeling her energy into advocacy, service, and public speaking.
Those who knew her describe her as luminous—a young woman whose radiant smile, kindness, and determination left an indelible mark. Maya dreamed big, but she also acted small—in everyday gestures of love, generosity, and courage.
As the Solon and OSU communities mourn this heartbreaking loss, Maya’s legacy will live on through the lives she touched, the passions she pursued, and the ideals she stood for.
She may be gone, but Maya’s spirit endures—in every act of kindness, every bold dream, and every heart that refuses to give up on making the world a better place. Visitation Hour
