With broken hearts, we share the devastating news that our beloved daughter, Katelynn Dollar, has passed away after a courageous and painful battle with depression. She was a bright light in the lives of all who knew her — beautiful, loving, kind, and incredibly talented.
Though her time with us was far too short, Katelynn’s spirit touched so many in the most profound ways. Katelynn was more than a daughter. She was a cherished sister, a loyal friend, and a gentle soul who radiated warmth and compassion.
From a young age, her creativity was impossible to ignore — whether through music, writing, or art, she had a rare gift for expressing emotion and depth in ways that resonated with others.
She was the kind of person who felt everything deeply, who cared fiercely, and who never hesitated to offer a kind word or a helping hand to someone in need.
To those around her, Katelynn was a safe space — the friend who listened without judgment, the sister who stayed up late just to talk, the daughter who hugged you like she meant it every single time.
She brought a quiet strength into every room, even as she silently carried her own struggles. Her heart was generous, her laughter infectious, and her smile capable of lighting up the darkest day.
But depression is a relentless and often invisible illness. Despite the love that surrounded her, despite the beauty she brought into the world, Katelynn faced an internal battle that no one should ever have to fight alone.
She tried so hard and held on so bravely, but in the end, the weight of that pain became too much. It is a tragedy beyond words — a reminder that mental health struggles are real, powerful, and far too often misunderstood.
As we try to come to terms with this unimaginable loss, we find some comfort in knowing how deeply Katelynn was loved. We know that her life made an impact.
We know that her voice mattered, and her memory will continue to live on in every person she touched. She will be remembered for her beautiful soul, her endless kindness, and the quiet strength she carried through even her darkest days.
We invite all who knew and loved Katelynn to join us for a Celebration of Life on Saturday, July 19th, from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m., at Canton Funeral Home and Cemetery at Macedonia Memorial Park.
This gathering will be a time to honor her memory, share stories, grieve together, and reflect on the joy and beauty she brought into the world. We ask that you come as you are — there’s no dress code for love.
If you knew Katelynn, you know she loved authenticity and honesty. We hope this day will reflect who she was: gentle, thoughtful, and deeply connected to those around her.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to mental health organizations working to support individuals like Katelynn. Let her life and legacy serve as a reminder that kindness can save lives, and that no one should ever have to suffer in silence.
We miss you, Katelynn, more than words can say. You were a gift to this world, and though you’re no longer here with us, your light will never be forgotten. You are loved beyond measure — always and forever.
