Chicago Mass Shooting: Mello Buckzz album release party turned bloody after 4 killed, 14 wounded at Artis nightclub

The album release party of a known Chicago female rapper turned bloody late Wednesday after four people were killed and fourteen others injured following gunfire at the location.

The Chicago Police Department was called to the Artis nightclub in the River North neighborhood around 11 pm. In the incident, two males and two women between the ages of 24 and 27 were killed. The wounded victims are between the ages of 21 and 32, according to the police.

Authorities said the incident occurred as the crowd was leaving the release party, around 11 p.m. Police said a dark SUV drove by the nightclub, and three people from within opened fire on the crowd outside. The Art Lounge nightclub has stated that they are cooperating with the authorities. The following statement was released by the owners:

The injured victims were identified as Mello Buckzz (real name: Melanie Doyle’s) two sisters and boyfriend.

Taylor Walker, 26, Aviance Drexler, 27, Leon Henry, and 25 Vonte.

The suspects were identifie as Black males.

As of Thursday, no one has been taken into custody. As authorities look for the three shooters, the investigation continues.
